Howard Lodge is a friendly family run Victorian guest house located a short walk (approx 0.25 miles) from Carlisle city centre and all its attractions which include Carlisle Castle and cathedral and the award winning Tullie House museum. There is also a good selection of bars, restaurants and shopping facilities.

We are ideally situated for The Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, Southern Scotland, The Eden Valley, The Cumbrian Way and The west Cumbrian Coast.  We have been awarded the Visit Britain four star rating and are recommended on Trip Advisor and by the Sherpa Van Project. Walkers and cyclists are always welcome and we can provide secure overnight bicycle storage.  Packed lunches are also available on request.
